A whole morning in the workshop, making hooks for the enamel earrings. People often ask me why I make all my hooks and don't buy my findings to save time...
Indeed, it's my choice:
✔︎ Because my goal is not to produce ever more ever faster, and the words “profitability”, “productivity” bristle at me… I prefer “pleasure”, “creativity”, “authenticity”
✔︎ Because I have an eye for detail, and I love the freedom to be able to create exactly what suits me.
✔︎ Because Moon Flower jewelery is 100% handmade, and in a pair of earrings, the hooks represent half of the jewel!
✔︎ Simply because it is the time, energy, love and attention to detail that we put into what we make that makes it quality and unique. I know you feel it by the way, many of you tell me about it.
✔︎ Because it is important for me to be aligned as much as possible with my values, and not to comply with the demands of an economic system that is always going faster, for ever more consumption, without respect for people and for the world…
✔︎ Because I prefer to focus on quality, and respect the time and rhythms necessary for creation, even if it means being less “profitable”… And it is precisely often in these almost meditative moments when the hands work alone at a repetitive task that bursts of inspiration arise.
There are objects that accompany our days for a long time, they deserve to be made with all our love 💗
